Biography

Mathew Cerletty (b. 1980, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin) lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Cerletty received his BFA from Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA. 

 

His most recent exhibition at STANDARD (OSLO), “Mineral Spirits” (2023) marks Cerletty’s second solo exhibition with the gallery, following his first, “Whiskers” (2019) and a two- person presentation with Julia Rommel, "Stay-at-Home Dad" (2017). Solo exhibitions include Karma, New York; The Power Station, Dallas; Ofce Baroque, Brussels; Blum & Poe, Los Angeles; Herald St, London, UK, amongst others. Selected group presentations include Palazzo Baraberini, Rome, Italy; The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Aishti Foundation, Beirut; The Flag Foundation, New York; Museo Madre, Naples; Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, California.

 

Cerletty’s work is held in numerous collections, including The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; The Astrup Fearnley Museum, Oslo; Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Bufalo, New York; Aishti Foundation, Beirut and Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
