Shikh Sabbir Alam was born in 1982 in Kushtia, Bangladesh, where he still lives and works. Sabbir completed his master's degree at the Oslo Academy of Fine arts (KHiO).

Sabbir Alam’s work is held in the collections of S.M.A.K, the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art Ghent, Belgium; Fiorucci Art Trust, London and the Astrup Fearnley Collection, Oslo, Norway.
